Rea Vaya fares have increased by 6% from 1 July 2020 to 30 June 2021. Rea Vaya points based system remains the same and passengers will earn bonus points up to 12.5% discount for trips to travel for free.

Passengers are encouraged to load R51.00 or more to get bonus points for extra trips to travel for free. If you load R51.00, you will get R2.60 bonus point and your total for travel will be R 53.60. (R51.00 + R2.60 bonus points). If you load R300 you will get R30.00 bonus points and your total for travel will be R330. You will get R87.50 bonus points to travel for free if you load R700 or more. In addition, passengers pay 10% less when they travel during off peak times between 08h30 and 15h00 and anytime over the weekends and public holidays.
