Eric Motwane Chairman of the Greater Regional Taxi Council holds up his graduation certificate, with Professors from the Faculty of Management
Several members of Johannesburg’s BRT Taxi Steering Committee were recognised for their participation in a Small Business Management Course offered by the University of Johannesburg (UJ). This course was jointly developed by UJ and Johannesburg's Taxi Leadership.
Eric Motswane, the Chairman of the Greater Regional Taxi Council (GRTC) said it took him and Professor Prinsloo a year to develop the course with a specific focus on the taxi industry. So far, over 60 graduates - including Mr Motswane - have received certificates in Management for Small Businesses, as well as Financial Management for Small Businesses.
"There is no other course which addresses the complexities of the taxi business sector. This kind of course will best teach us how to run our businesses and prepare for the challenges of migrating from taxi operators to future entrepreneurs in the mainstream public transport system," says Mr Motswane. |
