Tickets for Rea Vaya buses must be bought ahead of any trip and can be obtained from Rea Vaya stations or at clearly sign-posted, selected shops near the stations.

Tickets must be paid for in cash.

Note that tickets cannot be bought from a bus driver.

Tickets are colour-coded according to the routes for which they are issued:

• Trunk route tickets cost R8,50 one way. They are coloured red.
• Inner city circular routes are R4,50. They are coloured green/turquoise.
• The full trip from the feeder routes to the CBD cost R12,00 one way. These tickets are coloured dark blue.

Tickets only expire once they have been stamped, and all tickets are valid for two hours from the time they have been stamped.
