Fare system
Tickets will be available in the form of paper tickets which will be used to pay for your journey. The Rea Vaya tickets are colour-coded and the fares are as follows:

R9.50 (Yellow) Full trip, any number of transfers in 2 hours
R6.00 (Blue) Trunk routes only
R3.50 (Red) Inner-city trip

• Please note that you should never pay more than these rates for your tickets.
• Tickets will initially be sold for cash only.
• You will be able to buy the tickets from Rea Vaya Ticket Vendors at and around all the stations and most stops on the Rea Vaya route.
• Tickets are NOT sold by the drivers
• Please buy your tickets BEFORE you travel as it will help ease congestion at stations!
• A ticket can be saved for long periods of time without expiring. It will expire only once that time and date have been stamped onto the ticket.
• All tickets are valid for 2 hours from the time stamped on the ticket.

Where do I buy my ticket?
You will be able to buy the tickets from Rea Vaya ticket vendors at and around all the stations and most stops on the Rea Vaya routes.
