Bus schedules will change slightly from Monday, 20 December, and only resume normal operating hours after 7 January.
DURING the festive season, Rea Vaya's bus operation times will be slightly altered from 20 December to 7 January, and buses will not be running at all on 25 and 26 December, nor on 1 January.
Residents aiming to use the Rea Vaya bus service during the festive season are urged to familiarise themselves with the new times and to plan their trips accordingly, to avoid being left stranded.

Buses travelling along the trunk route (T1) from Ellis Park to Thokoza Park and back will be starting later than usual, and will be ending the day earlier. However during the festive season the bus times over weekends will remain the same.
The route from Dobsonville to Ellis Park (C1) during the week will start a few minutes earlier than usual and the bus service will end an hour earlier in the evenings. The weekend times will remain the same.
The new complementary bus route running from Dobsonville via Thokoza Park and Lakeview Station to Maponya Mall, in Soweto, also known as the C2 route, which started operating from 1 December, will run from Dobsonville to Maponya from 5:20am to 6:30pm.
It will then travel from Maponya Mall to Dobsonville between 5:50am and 7:10pm. This C2 route will also run over the weekends from 5:20am to 7:05pm, depending on the direction it will be moving in.
The inner city route (C3) will be running between 6:30am and 7:30pm during the week, from 6am to 5:30pm on Saturdays and from 7am to 5:30pm on Sundays.
This route (C3) runs from Chancellor House to the Library Gardens, the University of the Witwatersrand, the Joburg Civic Theatre, Constitution Hill, Hillbrow Bath House, Johannesburg Art Gallery, Fashion Square, Carlton station, Library gardens and back to Chancellor House.
Rea Vaya feeders, namely Naledi to Thokoza Park (F1), Protea Glen to Thokoza (F2), Jabavu to Lakeview (F3), Mofolo to Boomtown (F4) and Eldorado Park to Lakeview (F5) will be operating during the week from feeder to station between 5am and 7pm and from station and feeder from 5.30am to 9pm.
On Saturdays buses will run from the feeder to the station between 5am and 6pm and then from the stations to the feeders between 5:30am and 7pm. On Sundays the feeder buses will travel from feeder to station beween 6am and 7pm, and from feeder to station from 6am to 6pm.
