The Rea Vaya station at Nasrec
Rea Vaya buses will be taking spectators directly to Soccer City – stopping at the newly completed Nasrec Station – and to Ellis Park in downtown Joburg. The City is expecting 20 000 extra Rea Vaya bus passengers on those days.
There are 15 match days in Joburg, including the opening and final matches at Soccer City, and fans can catch a Rea Vaya bus at any station.
Information will be issued closer to the time on garages near the Rea Vaya stations, where fans can park their cars, says: "We will be encouraging and informing spectators of various parking garages nearby the Rea Vaya stations which will be available for them to park their cars," says Yolisa Mashilwane, the director of management support for transport in the City.
In addition, special buses will be laid on for match days, picking up visitors from the City's Park and Rides.

On match days, there will also be transport from Sandton to Westgate Station, where Rea Vaya buses will take fans to the stadiums.
Long distance buses and coaches will also drop passengers at Westgate Station. "There will be scheduled long distance buses that will drop spectators in good time at Westgate Station," says Mashilwane.
On arrival at the Nasrec Station passengers will have to walk through a long tunnel from the Nasrec Transport Hub under the Soweto Highway and to the Soccer City stadium. "The pedestrian tunnel is the longest manmade tunnel in Joburg," according to the mayoral committee member for transport, Rehana Moosajee.
This ensures their safety as pedestrians will not have to cross the highway, says Nkosinathi Manzana, a senior development manager at the Johannesburg Development Agency.
WHERE TO BUY TICKETS
Bus tickets will be available from accredited Rea Vaya ticket vendors at all stations and at most stops along the route.
Vendors will be identified through clearly marked Rea Vaya banners and posters.
