Join Joburg treasure hunt
- Details
- 28 September 2012

A treasure hunt style event is planned for Joburg during Transport Month, and all residents are invited to take part. They will get to know their city and its public transport offerings.
IN the spirit of Transport Month, an exciting new adventure is on the cards, aimed at encouraging commuters to make use of public transport.
The City annually sets aside October as Transport Month and this year it plans to entice residents to mark the month by persuading them to participate in a public transport adventure.
The month-long programme is available here.
Apart from all the other events taking place through October, the portfolio head of transport in the City, Rehana Moosajee, is calling on people to volunteer to participate in this transport adventure on 17 October.
Teams of four people each must meet at Park Station at 7am. They will be given clues to places of interest around Joburg and will have to make their way there using different forms of public transport – such as walking, using the train or bus. They will then have to make their way to a common meeting point.
All participants will also need to show photographic proof that they did, in fact, visit each of the places of interest. They will also be asked share their experiences.
To participate, teams need to be formed and register. Participation is free, but each team will have to pay for their own travel costs. If individuals want to participate and do not have a team, they should submit their contact details on the registration.
