Bike Sharing Scheme

City of Johannesburg (COJ) requested a Technical and Financial Assessment for the Viability of a Bike Sharing Scheme Resulting in a Sustainable Business Model and Contract Specification in Johannesburg. The focus of the study was on commuter and scholar trips and considered five areas as a potential for piloting bike sharing schemes (BSS) including Diepsloot-Fourways, AlexandraSandton, parts of the CBD and Soweto, and UJ/WITS campuses.

Technical feasibility included analysis of passenger demand, topography, and existing and proposed cycling infrastructure.
