There are several public transport options of getting to that crucial World Cup match: check them out and make sure you are well prepared ahead of time.
FOOTBALL fans going to watch the 2010 FIFA World Cup™ matches in Joburg are assured of a safe and reliable transport system to the Soccer City and Ellis Park stadiums. No parking will be provided at either host stadium.There are several ways of getting to the stadiums. The two key options are: Johannesburg's Bus Rapid Transit system, Rea Vaya, which operates buses on dedicated lanes between Ellis Park and Soweto, and the Metrorail service for commuters wanting to use the train service to the stations near the stadiums. Fans wishing to use private transport can make use of the various Park and Ride and Park and Walk facilities. Fans are, however, advised to have all information concerning Park and Ride and Park and Walk facilities; train and bus schedules; and ticketing well before any match day. Rea VayaJoburg's Bus Rapid Transit system, Rea Vaya, will take spectators to the stadiums along dedicated bus lanes. Rea Vaya buses run between Soweto and Johannesburg, passing both Soccer City and Ellis Park. During the World Cup, spectators can catch buses from any Rea Vaya station to the stadiums. MetrorailMetrorail, the commuter train service, will provide dedicated rail services for the duration of the World Cup, dropping passengers at stations a stone's throw from the stadiums.

Metrorail will be using several selected rail lines, and putting on extra trains on match days. Go to Metrorail info. Park and Ride/Park and WalkPark and Rides are designated areas around Joburg where you can safely park your car for a fee and catch a shuttle service provided by the City to the stadium. This shuttle service will also transport you back to the Park and Ride.
BETWEEN CITIESServices running between cities will be transporting fans from other cities and towns around South Africa into Johannesburg to two Transport Hubs: one in Sandton and one in the Joburg CBD. Transport HubsFans travelling from outside the city to attend Joburg matches will be taken to either the Sandton Metrobus or Westgate Transport Hubs. Services running from cities outside Gauteng will take fans to either the Sandton Metrobus Transport Hub or to Westgate Transport Hub. From here fans will be able to take a Rea Vaya bus or a Metrorail coach to the stadium.

Catch the Gautrain from OR Tambo International Airport
There will be bus services running from OR Tambo International to Sandton on a daily basis, as well as from the OR Tambo International to Westgate on match days.
